Growing up in Goldsboro, Hay’ralah learned the value of hard work and dedication through his family’s business, where he served the local community from a young age and until college. Hay’ralah attended the Honors College at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with Honors as a double major in Economics and History. His time at UNC helped sharpen his analytical thinking and fueled his passion for serving his community. He continued his education at UNC School of Law, where he excelled in leadership roles that further cemented his skills as a legal advocate.

At UNC Law, Hay’ralah served as a case manager and counsel in the Graduate Honor System, gaining hands-on experience investigating cases and upholding procedural fairness. As a Teaching Assistant for an undergraduate law course and a semester extern at the NC Court of Appeals, he honed his ability to translate complex legal principles into accessible solutions. His legal writing and research skills were recognized as a member of the editorial board for the North Carolina Journal of International Law, where his work was published.

What sets Hay’ralah apart is his dedication to his clients and his community. As an Arab-American attorney, he frequently volunteers within the Arabic-speaking community, providing legal guidance and support. He is also an active member of the North Carolina Muslim Bar Association, where he collaborates with other professionals to advance equity and justice.

Outside of the courtroom, Hay’ralah finds inspiration in history, exploring books and artifacts that connect him to the struggles and triumphs of the past. Whether he’s hiking North Carolina’s scenic trails, listening to thought-provoking podcasts, or spending quality time with his family, Hay’ralah stays grounded in his roots and driven by his passion for justice.
